A Pain Relief Story

I recently treated a woman for neck pain who was unable to turn her head to the right or left. She was in a great deal of pain, and it was affecting her ability to live her life.

After speaking with her in detail about her current state of health, I used acupuncture to stop her pain, reduce her tension, and give her more mobility in her neck. She made some dietary changes because we found that she was not getting enough proper nourishment. I added herbs to improve the circulation throughout her whole body, as well as stimulate her digestion to facilitate the delivery of important nutrients to the tissues in her neck and shoulders.

We also covered some exercises that she could apply to reduce the strain on her neck and upper back. After the first treatment, her pain level reduced to zero, and she was able to enjoy her full range of motion. The steps we took from her first treatment gave her long lasting relief and prevented the injury from recurring.

This patient was able to move from immobilizing pain and tightness into relief and relaxation because we explored the totality of what Traditional Chinese Medicine has to offer, including and beyond acupuncture. In my commitment to assess her as a person and not just a disease, I was able to identify the source of her pain, rather than just treat her symptoms repeatedly.

If you have pain that keeps returning no matter what you do, the source of that pain needs immediate attention. I am available to answer your questions so that you know what to expect when starting your recovery with acupuncture.
